After-School Art Activity for Kids — Tengah

A regular after-school slot for your child — 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday, 5 minutes from Tengah and Bukit Batok schools. Snack from the in-house café, a creative activity instead of a screen, and a recurring weekly booking so you solve the after-school gap once and move on.

The 3-hour after-school window, sorted

School ends 1:30–2:30pm. Work ends 5–6pm. That gap needs filling with something good, not screens and snacks on the sofa. Here's how the window works:

School ends

~2pm

Pickup from school, head over — 5–15 min drive.

Session starts

3pm

Time to settle, snack from café, then into the activity.

Creating

3–5pm

90–120 min focused creative time. Screen-free, unhurried.

Parent collects

5–6pm

On the way home from work. Free parking, quick in-and-out.

📅 Recurring Slot Booking

Solve the Tuesday problem once. Not every week.

A one-off booking means remembering, rescheduling, and deciding every single week. A recurring slot means your child has their thing on Tuesday afternoons and you don't think about it again. Three booking formats — pick the one that suits your schedule.

📌

Weekly Hold

Same day, same time, every week. First-refusal on your slot. Cancel with 48 hours' notice, no penalty.

📆

Monthly Block

Pay a month at a time, save vs drop-in rate. Best for parents who want flexibility term to term.

🏆

Term Enrolment

Lock in 10 weeks, best per-session rate, slot guaranteed for the full term, one make-up included.

Snack first, create after — the café is right next door

Kids arriving straight from school are hungry. Our in-house café handles that before the session starts — no packed snacks needed, no "I'm starving" five minutes into the activity.

🥪
Light bites & sandwiches
🍞
Toast & spreads
🥤
Juices & hot drinks
🍰
Cakes & desserts

Café charges are separate from session fees. Parents can pre-order a snack via WhatsApp for their child to collect on arrival — saves the queue and gets them settled faster.

Why working parents make this their regular slot

The after-school decision is actually several decisions compressed into one: safe? stimulating? convenient? worth the money? Here's what comes up most when we ask regulars why they kept coming back:

  • Creative not academic — after a full school day, the last thing most kids want is more structured work. This is genuinely different: hands-on, expressive, no right answer.
  • Facilitator supervision throughout — your child is with an adult from arrival to your pickup. No unsupervised waiting areas, no leaving kids to manage themselves.
  • Free parking for quick pickup — Plantation Plaza's open-air lot is 30 seconds from the lift. On-the-way-home collection takes under five minutes.
  • Something to show at dinner — a finished piece from every session. "What did you do today?" has an answer.
  • The same slot every week — removes the decision overhead. Your child knows when their thing is. You don't have to renegotiate it.

School-to-studio routes from nearby schools

We're not affiliated with any school — we list them because that's who our regulars' families come from. All drive times are off-peak afternoon estimates.

🏫

Tengah Primary School

~5 min drive

The most direct route — Tengah Boulevard to Plantation Crescent. Most Tengah Primary families come straight from school pickup.

🏫

Bukit Batok Primary School

~8 min drive

Via Bukit Batok Road. One of our largest existing parent groups — the after-school slot fits the school-end timing well.

🏫

St Anthony's Primary School (Bukit Batok)

~8 min drive

Bukit Batok East Ave to KJE. Several St Anthony's families run a Tuesday/Thursday after-school slot here.

🏫

Lianhua Primary School

~10 min drive

Bukit Batok West Ave to PIE. Adds 2 minutes over Bukit Batok schools — still well within the 3pm start window.

🏫

Dazhong Primary School

~12 min drive

Pioneer Road to PIE westbound. Works for families heading toward Tengah on the way home from work.

🏫

West Grove Primary School

~12 min drive

Jurong West Ave to PIE. One of the farther schools in the cluster — still comfortable for a 3pm or 3:30pm start.

Your school not listed? WhatsApp us with the school name and we'll give you the exact drive time and best route.

What actually happens in an after-school session

A typical 3pm–5pm Wednesday — from your child walking in to you collecting them.

3:20–3:30pm

Activity briefing

Today's activity introduced. Materials set up. Choices offered within the format — the creative decisions belong to the child.

3:30–5:00pm

After-school booking FAQs

The questions working parents ask before setting up a recurring slot.

What exactly does "recurring slot" mean — am I locked in?
A recurring slot means we hold the same day-and-time for your child week after week. You're not indefinitely locked in — the Weekly Hold format lets you cancel any individual session with 48 hours' notice at no charge. The Term Enrolment has a minimum commitment (the full term), but includes a make-up session and the best per-session rate. Most families settle into the term option after trying a month of weekly holds.
What if I'm running late for pickup?
WhatsApp us as soon as you know — your child waits safely in the studio with the facilitator until you arrive. The 5–6pm window is flexible. For chronic late pickups beyond 6pm, we'll discuss whether a later session start time works better for your family's schedule.
Can I change the day of my recurring slot?
Yes — with at least 1 week's notice, we'll move your regular slot to another weekday if the alternative day has availability. One free slot-change per term; additional changes are subject to availability and a small admin note in the booking.
What age is the after-school format best for?
The 3–6pm after-school format is designed primarily for primary school age — P1 to P6, roughly 7–12 years old. Younger siblings (5–6) join with a slightly adjusted format within the same session. We don't run after-school sessions for toddlers (under 5), who do better in our morning workshops or holiday camps.
What if my child's school schedule changes (CCA runs late, etc.)?
Real-world school schedules flex constantly. For CCA-clash days, cancel the individual session via WhatsApp by 48 hours ahead. For a term where CCA every Tuesday conflicts, switch to a Thursday recurring slot or pause for that term — we'll hold your rate for the following term if you give us 2 weeks' notice.
Is there homework help, or is it purely art?
Purely art — and deliberately so. After a full school day, creative activity is the mental gear change that recharges rather than drains. Our facilitators are trained in art facilitation, not academic support. If your child wants to do homework first, they can use the café table while waiting for the 3:30pm session start.
Can my child come by school bus or independently?
Yes, with prior arrangement. We need a parent-authorised "arrive independently" note in the booking — confirming that your child has permission to travel to the studio unaccompanied and knows the route. For school-bus drop-offs to Plantation Plaza, confirm with your bus operator that Plantation Crescent is on their route; several Tengah and Bukit Batok service operators do stop nearby.
Can two siblings come at the same time?
Yes — common setup, one drop-off and one pickup. Siblings go into their respective age-appropriate activity tracks within the same session time. Sibling discount applies to the second child. Book both in the same form and we'll confirm they're in the same 3–5pm slot.
How does the café snack work — does the session fee cover it?
Café charges are separate from session fees. You can pre-order your child's snack via WhatsApp by midday on the session day — we'll have it ready when they arrive. Alternatively your child orders directly at the café counter on arrival (the studio is on the same floor, 30 seconds away). We also accept packed snacks from home if your child has dietary restrictions.
What if there's a school public holiday but I still need cover?
Public holidays that fall on your regular slot day are treated as missed sessions — no charge, no make-up needed unless you specifically request one. If your child is off school but you still need after-school coverage on a non-holiday weekday (teacher's conference, etc.), just confirm the session is on via WhatsApp the morning before.
