September School Holiday Art Workshops Singapore 2026
Post-Term 3 creative recharge for kids aged 4–12. Story-illustration and comic-page making as this holiday's featured format — something genuinely different to do with the screen-free hours.
📅 September School Holidays · Walk-in & Bookings Welcome
Comic pages + illustrated stories — new for September 2026.
90–120 min of deep creative focus. No devices needed.
Shift gears after the SA1 season — different kind of productive.
A finished story page or illustrated scene — genuinely made by them.
Story illustration + comic page making
The signature format for this September holiday — a step-by-step creative process that takes a child from blank page to a finished illustrated story. Not a paint-by-numbers kit. Not a craft template. An actual story they invent, draw, and colour from scratch.
Character & world building
Choose a character archetype, sketch a quick character sheet, decide on a setting. Guided by the facilitator with deliberate open choices.
Panel layout & story beat
Plan a 3–4 panel comic page or a single-scene illustration spread. Narrative sequencing, framing, and visual storytelling introduced naturally.
Pencil sketch & ink
Loose pencil first, then deliberate ink outlines. The confidence gap between sketch and ink is where the real creative growth happens.
Colour & final details
Watercolour wash, acrylic accents, or marker fill — whichever suits the child's story and style. Speech bubbles, titles, scene descriptions.
Duration: 90–120 min. All materials provided. Kids aged 5 and up handle this format independently; younger participants (4–5) work alongside a parent or with closer facilitation.
A proper answer to the "what do I do with them all week?" question
September holiday is typically a week of competing pressures — catch-up, gaming, tuition, screen time, repeat. This is something else.
Awake at 7am, device in hand by 7:05
4+ hours of passive screen time
Nothing created. Nothing to show at the end
The usual Sunday-night guilt cycle begins
90–120 min of genuine creative focus
A story they invented, drew, and coloured
Finished artwork to take home and talk about
A break from Term 3 that actually recharges

Story Illustration + Comic Page
Character creation, panel layout, pencil-to-ink, watercolour finish. 90–120 min. Ages 5–12 independent; 4–5 with support.
Mosaic Art
Pattern design with real tesserae. Calm and focused — a good recovery-week format. 90 min. Ages 5 and up.
Hand Painted Craft
Acrylic on a craft surface — guided design, personal colour choices. 60–90 min. All ages.
Clay Art
Sculpting, shaping, texture. Tactile and satisfying — good for kids who prefer 3D making. 60–90 min. Ages 4 and up.
Cardboard Craft
3D builds — cut, construct, decorate. Structural and hands-on, best for active makers. 60 min. Ages 4 and up.
Twist & Turn Pet
Assemble and customise a character craft. Quick, fun, younger-friendly. 45–60 min. Ages 4–9.
Designed for every age from 4 to 12
Same studio, same holiday holiday week — different format depth per stage.
Ages 4–6
Preschool & Kindergarten
Shorter 45–60 min formats recommended. Story-illustration available with parent alongside or with closer facilitator support. Clay, Cardboard Craft, and Twist & Turn Pet suit this age group best for independent sessions.
Ages 7–9
Lower Primary (P1–P3)
The 90-min story-illustration format is designed squarely for this age. Reading-age children respond well to the panel layout concept. Mosaic and hand-painted craft are also strong choices for this group's focus-span.
Ages 10–12
Upper Primary (P4–P6)
Post-SA1 recovery mode. Story-illustration at this age becomes genuinely ambitious — manga-influenced character sheets, world-building, more complex panel compositions. A real creative outlet after the assessment grind.
What they leave with
Every September holiday session produces something tangible. Not a worksheet — actual work they made.
Their own character, their own story, their own art. A real creative document.
Fully coloured and complete — not a half-done craft.
Mid-session candid shared via WhatsApp.
The story they tell at dinner that night. Genuinely.
